Florida floats anti-vaccination bill; pediatricians concerned
Currently working its way through the Florida legislature is a bill (SB 242) that would, among other things, ban the use of vaccines meant for children under age 6 or pregnant women that contains even a small amount of thimerosol, the preservative most vaccination foes call out as potentially causing autism. The bill allows parents to hold off vaccinating their children until they prepare to enter school. If the bill became law, even flu vaccines would be off-limits. (In fairness, the bill analysis—linked in the article—states there is no scientific link between the preservative and autism.)
